wednesday finally went back to tp for training... =) took tons of pics with the gals.. hee.. i'm finally satisfied with myself ......
anyway I've just started my admin job - citibank human resource. heh. taking double jobs @ the moment. in the evening will be esplanade -current forbidden city (ending today) if not will be heeding down for trainings or resting @ home le.. haven gone back to banquet for a long long time due to some reasons ya... despite that I must say that working in the hotel line has taught me a lot on upfront service (GEMS) etc.. I'm lovin it.. =P esplanade peeps are a great bunch of gals to work with. =) IMF work has ended and I'm missing my collgeaues... hee.. got a merit cert from the company for GEMS.. but just realised that I've stressed some of my colleagues because I just can't stop moving arnd n work. really sorry..
work aside..
I got a call recently that I've gotten the NTUC FairPrice scholarship which I applied for earlier this year... if I accept it then my thoughts of wanting to do OSIP will be gone and attachement will be with the company plus bonds. looking forward to make a good difference in the company and for my family. =)
thurs I applied for leave to heed down for Metta school monthly social competence outing. =) woke up early in the morning to accompany the students to HEALTH ZONE @ HPB (health promotion board) the other group went to geylang serai..b4 that.. when I was making my way to the train station to the school.. I met ms soo!! my ex-ncc CO who is now taking a course @ NTU.. haven seen her for ages!! then during work in the eveining, I met DC (district commander) @ esplande.. he went to watch forbidden city.. sitting @ the level where I was stationed. so qiao! back to HPB.. the games in there are pretty interesting! parents can bring their children there for outing n @ the same time let them learn something on health in a fun way! =) b4 we heed back to school we went ot outram market to have our lunch. there are many famous food stalls there...
hmmm.. the afternoon shift we took the kids (lower pri - simply adorable kids!!!) to the fire-station near cityhall.. there were some people filming us when we visited the place. mx, fabby, the teachers n I had a gd laugh of how the kids tried to ans the tour guide a.ka sgt pk qns... reminds me of how we were like when we're in pri sch.. innocent n surprising ans... the rest of the groups heeded to changi airport/ite simei..
to sum it up - the outing has always been enriching & fulfilling. these kids are special kids and compared to the orphanage kids, they need more patience to be taken care of. they need the public acceptance. sometimes the public may be turn off by how some of them behaves or look but hey thats because they nv try to understand them... these children have heart that is simply pure n innocent.
if u guys happen to help out @ special schools, some tips for ya..
- be strict with them when they're wrong so they can learn what is right n wrong.
- do not
always speak in a nice-gentle tone when they misbehave if not they won't learn. see situations. note that some of them take a longer time to learn things.
- speak to autistic kids @ eye level if not they will be frighten. these kids will need even more patience to be taken care of.
- overall if ya doing CIP just to earn gd deeds in ya life or so... den I simply say that ya heeding the wrong way. do it because u enjoy so and it makes u happy but most importantly they r happy plus u r making a difference in someone's life. so cheers!!
today east meeting was held @ east coast afterwhich I heeded down with juan to changi prison supposely to help out @ the prison fair. but the volunteers i.c had enough ppl le so she told DC to ask us to tour arnd n enjoy the activties line-up for the public. yellow ribbon project - acceptance of ex-offenders. another group of ppl who needs our acceptance. read some totally inspiring, heart-warming notes written from the public to them n them to the public.=)
